The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm and Blizzard Warning for our entire region.

Snow will begin falling in the early evening hours tonight and continue through Saturday afternoon. Snowfall totals at this time are projected to be 9- to 15-inches, and may vary depending on the exact tract of the storm.

Strong northerly gale force winds of 25- to 35-mph (with gusts up to 50-mph) are expected from Friday night through Sunday morning.

Winds will likely cause snow drifts and reduced visibility during this storm.

Please refrain from driving during the storm, if possible, to allow the Department of Public Works to plow roads and to allow Sea Isle City’s Police and EMS to respond to emergency calls.

Please remove vehicles from curbside parking spaces and park them in driveways, if possible. This will greatly help the plows quickly and safely clear the roads.

Coastal flooding is not expected to be a serious concern with this storm; however Saturday’s early morning tide is expected to be in the minor flood stage.

Sea Isle City’s Welcome Center and Trash & Recycling Depot will be closed on Saturday, January 29. The Trash Depot is expected to re-open on Sunday morning, and the Welcome Center will re-open on Monday morning.

The best thing you can do is stay put and keep warm while this storm passes.

If you have questions for the police, phone 609-263-4311 ext. 0.

If you have an emergency, call 911.

Thank you – and stay safe!
